What We Do

The Group meets several times a year and examines various topics of resonance at the time, to enhance awareness of patient safety not only within Parliament but throughout the wider healthcare arena.

The meetings bring together parliamentarians across all political parties, patient groups and leading health professionals and helps to play a positive role in examining and influencing policy in this area.

Past meetings included a debate with Professor Liam Donaldson, a discussion about the impact of minimally invasive surgery on patient safety and the influence and risks involved in the development of the new Government “super regulator”; the Care Quality Commission.

It is hoped that this year’s schedule will be as much of a success as previous year’s, nonetheless we are always interested in hearing your thoughts or suggestions on areas within patient safety that are yet to be addressed.
