About the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Patient Safety

The Group aims to

“.. examine issues concerning patient safety, raise awareness of those issues among parliamentarians, provide a forum for discussion and debate on those issues, and generate recommendations for the Government to improve patient safety”

The APPG on Patient Safety is the first parliamentary group to look specifically at this issue. It meets several times a year and examines various topics to enhance awareness of patient safety not only within Parliament but also throughout the wider healthcare arena.

By bringing together parliamentarians, patient groups and the health professions, NHS managers and others, the Group helps to play a positive role in examining and influencing policy in this area.
